West Side – Polihale Beach – SPECIAL USE PERMIT REQUIRED – OBTAINED BY COUPLE 45 DAYS IN ADVANCE.  Accessed by a long bumpy dirt road, about as far west as you can drive, Polihale Beach is an uncommon place for weddings.  

I actually discourage visitors from planning a wedding for Polihale Beach.  There are many other beaches, much easier to get to, and less hassle in getting a permit.  I also worry about damaging my car during the drive on the very bumpy road, getting stuck in the sand, getting a flat tire… These things have happened to me in the past.  

Perhaps enjoy this beach on your own in a recreational manner.  Popular for watching the sunset and has a campground (with camping permit) and picnic area.   Always good for sunset, even when the sun sets behind Niihau some months of the year.
